Schneiderman's Half-life Method

I discovered the Half-life Method quite by accident in 1984 and published my findings in two Quality Progress articles that appeared in 1986 and 1988.  Both articles are available on this website and I suggest that you read the second one as a prerequisite for what is to follow.

The half-life/complexity matrix summarizes the expected half-life when an improvement team utilizes best practice incremental improvement tools and methods.

The half-life model leads to a very different competitive framework than the experience curve which has formed the basis of most business strategy following World War II.
